The Legacy Game

Karida & Rowyn

Karida
karida nocks on rowyns door

Rowyn
Rowyn opens the door and is surprised to see Karida there. “Hello.”

Karida
“Hello. I have come to apologise for my behavhior the other day.”

Rowyn
“Ah. Would you like to come in?” Rowyn steps back to let Karida pass.

Karida
“Thank you”
she enters

Rowyn
“Please sit down.” Rowyn goes to the simple table in the center of the room and pulls out a chair.

Karida
she does so
Lauren Tilley 10:29 AM
“You’ve come to apologize?”

Rowyn
Rowyn sits down adjacent to Karida

Karida
“Yes, I was very rude to you at the funeral.”

Rowyn
“You had just lost someone important to you. It is understandable.”

Karida
“Never the less, I had no right to behave in such a manner at a first meeting”

Rowyn
“Well I’m glad that you’ve come here today. How are you doing?”

Karida
“Better. Here, I brought you this”
gives plant
“How are you doing? I understand you are also a friend of the family?”

Rowyn
“Oh, thank you. What a beautiful plant.”
“I am doing well, thank you. I have known the Vanderborens for many years, and while it doesn’t get easier experiencing death, you do learn ways of handling grief.”

Karida
“What are some of the ways you have learned?”

Rowyn
“Part of it is observing the continuation of life even if one dies. For example, when someone dies, they are making room for the many babies born in their place. Another might be that their death nourishes those left behind
“Death is a part of life, and we live life because we will die. Even we, who live much longer than humans, will die eventually. It’s about accepting it as a fact.”
“Does that make sense?”

Karida
“Yes, but that doesn’t make it easy”

Rowyn
“No, it isn’t easy, and it won’t be easy, but for me, it helps me move on.”
“This plant you gave me. Eventually, the plant will wilt, no matter how much care I give it. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want to enjoy it while it lasts, and care for it as long as possible. Because it’s life is a gift.”

Karida
she nods quietly

Rowyn
“Enough of this serious talk. What do you like to do for fun, Karida?”

Karida
“I dance and sing”

Rowyn
“Is that so? That sounds like fun. How long have you been learning music?”

*Karida
*"Oh, about 30 years"

Rowyn
“Quite a long time. I have a flute around here somewhere, if you wouldn’t mind showing me.”

Karida
“i can try, but i have not specifically trained with the flute”

Rowyn
“Well, I’ll play the flute, and you can dance or sing. How’s that?”

Karida
“Sounds wonderfull!”

Rowyn
Rowyn goes to another room and after a few minutes, comes back with a wooden flute. "Do you know “Horse with a Heart”?

Karida
“Yes”

Rowyn
Rowyn nods and puts the flute to her lips. She nods her head a few times to count off and then starts playing.

Karida
karida dances

Rowyn
The song ends eventually, and Rowyn puts the flute on the table. “That was fun. You are a great dancer.”

Karida
karida raises an eyebrow

Rowyn
Rowyn smiles.

*Karida
*"Not really, but you are a wonderful flute player"
on the dancing bit, to clarify

Rowyn
“Years of practice. You’re dancing will improve as you get older. You dance nearly as well as my grandson, as it is.”

Karida
“Thank you for the compliment”

Rowyn
“Thank you for the dance. Would you like something to drink?”

Karida
“That would be lovely”

Rowyn
Rowyn goes to … a cabinet on the wall (?) and pulls out two cups. She takes a pitcher from the countertop below it and pours two glasses of watered wine.
She gives one to Karida and sits down with the other.

Karida
Karida sips politely

Rowyn
After a few minutes of polite chatting (small talk) and sipping the wine, someone knocks on the door. Rowyn answers it. A younger gnome woman is standing there, and asks for Rowyn to come to the school.
Rowyn smiles and says, “I have a guest, but I’ll be along in a few minutes.”
She turns back to Karida. “I’m sorry about this, but I have to get back to my work. Thank you for the plant, and it was fun performing with you.”

Karida
“Oh, no its fine”
“I should probably be going back anyway”
“I enjoyed performing with you too”
smile

Rowyn
Rowyn smiles. “I hope we’ll meet again sometime. Take care.”

Karida
“Alright. Good bye”

Welcome to your Adventure Log!
A blog for your campaign

Every campaign gets an Adventure Log, a blog for your adventures!

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.
